I’m kinda into it. The UP passenger rolling stock has my attention. Are they HO scale? If so, I’ll buy the full set for a hundred plus shipping.

I’m at work however, so I can’t do any purchases remotely. We can try getting in touch online though. If you have discord:  NKato#2316

I’m not selling any of it, it’s my grandpa’s wife and she live 8 hours from me. You’ll have to use the “contact seller” thing to ask her any questions.

edit: now that i look some do have it. maybe it was just the one i was looking at.

you should put the model scale in the title. I looked at a couple and I dont think i could find it at all. Those 12 wheeled engines are awesome. I hope to build a little mountain side village in my basement.... if i ever finish the house projects. i have HO scale.

that was mine from when i was a kid.  at first my parents thought they had given it away but the finally found in it the back of the attic.  they did give away all my hotwheels track.

I think my HO stuff is still at my parents’ somewhere (and will probably get tossed or given away as they downsize , I might keep the Brio and Legos, but I don’t think the HO is good enough to make the cut). Somewhere we probably also have my dad and uncle’s Lionel stuff, and even a set that belonged to my grandfather, some of those are metal construction and might actually be valuable.

I’m not sure there’s anything that qualifies as “best”. I don’t even have strong memories of what I had. I think one Union Pacific diesel engine, but I’m drawing a blank on the rest of it. Probably will go to their local dump’s “swap shop” and hopefully it will go to someone will find a use for it.

My Stepdad WAS into them many years ago. He asked for me to help sell his collection, but wrote down prices what he paid for each of them and expected to get at least what he paid for them. After ebay fees and shipping, and market value he would of been lucky to get half of what he paid for it all. He finally reached out to a local model railroad club, and some guy came and bought everything. He never said what he got for it all, but my guess is he didn’t get anything close to what he paid.

The weird est part was he collected “ rare” trains/cars, never took them out of the boxes. He also collected playschool sets to make a small town out of that his track would go around. The playschool sets were wort h more than any of his trains on ebay.

Had to check the timetables for family history purposes but nothing covering VA.

That peanut tongue-in-cheek car is super tempting, but the price I can’t afford right now.

I was at a hobby shop a few years ago, and was talking to the owner. I told him I had a big box of HO stuff back at the house, older stuff, and wondered how much it might be worth. “Not very much,” he said. I retrieved that box when I was back in VA over Christmas, and I plan to go through it and ultimately will advertise it on our neighborhood news group as “come and take it.”
